November 19, 2022 - Fly to Cambridge for Lunch |
||||||
I didn't have anywhere specific to go or to do on this Saturday afternoon. But it was a nice day and I wanted to fly for at least an hour. I like to fly the plane at least once a week, to exercise the engine and keep rust at bay, and also keep my pilot proficiency up. I went out to the airport, and ran into Chuck, and we decided to fly to Cambridge for a late lunch. Here we are, heading across the Chesapeake Bay. You can just barely make out the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, right of center. |
||||||
Now I'm looking out over Eastern Bay. Parsons Island and Romancoke beyond is at center right.

Looking east at Wye Island.
Looking east at the Marengo Woods area. Easton Airport is in the distance.
|
||||||
Looking down at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, just north of Cambridge airport.
Chuck is thrilled after our short flight.
After we both had delicious hot roast beef sandwiches, we headed for home, via the Choptank River.
A short ways up the river, we spotted this paddle-wheel boat steaming east into Cabin Creek. It was probably heading for the Suicide Bridge Restaurant, visible at far right, famous for its seafood.

Continuing up the Choptank, with the sun behind us, lighting everything up nicely.

No leaves left on these trees!
Now passing by the Chester River.
The view of Essex Skypark from my hangar. Desolate as usual.
